Mixed instrumentation by invitation

Chamber music groups are formed with various combinations of winds and strings. We also collaborate with other music programs to include other instruments.

Varying levels: ad hoc groups created for specific performance projects based on student needs

We will create a special project whenever there is a performance opportunity or group of students at a similar level who will benefit from working together.

Participants continue in S.T.E.P. Circle class during projects

Students can still work on foundational musical skills in the S.T.E.P. class setting while involved in supplementary repertoire projects in these ensembles.

Students learn to support each other as they develop independent learning and performing skills

Playing chamber music as a cooperative team with no conductor is excellent training in mutual listening and respect.
